Meet Our Founder
Dr. Gayl Hyde founded Nouriva to offer virtual functional medicine consultations, helping patients move beyond conventional healthcare to achieve better, more sustainable outcomes. Driven by the belief that personalized, in-depth functional medicine should be accessible to everyone, Dr. Hyde is committed to dismantling the barriers to quality care. She firmly opposes the exploitation of functional medicine as a platform to charge exorbitant fees, making optimal health out of reach for far too many.
As a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) specializing in functional medicine, Dr. Hyde focuses on women’s wellness, including functional fertility and holistic mental health, addressing conditions such as anxiety, depression, and grief. She is an expert in Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and its comorbidities. Through a comprehensive, personalized, integrative, and whole-person approach that blends evidence-based science with natural therapies, she helps her patients achieve symptom remission and root-cause recovery.
Dr. Hyde earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. She is licensed to practice medicine in Arizona and California and is board-certified in IV therapy. Demonstrating her commitment to holistic mental health, she holds a Master of Science in Psychology from California Coast University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and is an active member of the Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PsychANP).
Her dedication to comprehensive care is further reflected in her advanced certifications, which include Intravenous Nutritional Therapy for Physicians (IIVNTP), Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University, Culinary Coaching from Harvard Medical School, and Plant-Based Culinary Arts from Rouxbe Culinary School. Additionally, Dr. Hyde has been recognized as a Top Integrative Medicine Specialist by The International Association of HealthCare Professionals.
A lifelong learner with a deep commitment to and love for animals, Dr. Hyde also earned a diploma in Companion Animal Nutrition from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with honors. Outside of her practice, she cherishes spending time with friends and family and enjoys the beach with her rescued pooch, Siegmund.
